About the Company
Quality tools, fair prices, good service and straight forward honesty have been prime motivations since John J. Burns started his saw shop back in 1934. Over the years, Burns Power Tools has become a major supplier specializing in industrial power tools, heavy-duty machinery, full service sharpening, repairs and related accessories. We have built our business by catering to Contractors and Industry, and we provide value to these customers that the large discount houses cannot. Our loyal customers know that if they buy a tool from Burns, they’ll have no worries because the loyalty goes both ways – we’ll take care of it if it breaks down, we’ll provide help and advice on application problems, and we’ll offer pick up and delivery. Many long-lasting mutual friendships have developed as a result of the Burns philosophy.

Product Selection
The tools and supplies that we choose to stock are considered the most efficient on the market according to research and testing done by Burns and the feedback from our customers and associates. In addition to researching which tools best fit our customers’ needs, Burns takes the worry out of price hunting by continually monitoring competitors’ pricing and adjusting ours to beat it. Delivery, Repair, Service…
In addition to in-house repair service on tools, Burns has service technicians available for road repair jobs on machinery.  Burns also works with customers to provide general maintenance of shop equipment. 

Burns can deliver and set up your equipment purchases.  Burns also offers complete dust collection solutions - from single bag dust collectors and shop-vacs, to large multi-unit dust collectors with complete duct-work planning and installation.

Marshall Burns Honored at JLC Live - Given "Lifetime Achievement Award"

March 20, 2009, Burns Power Tools' co-founder Marshall Burns, who was previously inducted into the Tools of the Trade Magazine 'Hall of Fame' (January/February 2005 issue), was honored by Hanley Wood on March 20th when he is given a Lifetime Achievement Award! It was presented at the JLC Live Welcome Party on Friday, March 20th at the Rhode Island Convention Center.

"The world has certainly changed since Marshall Burns started his small shop in Fall River, Mass., in 1934.  Burns, the 83-year-old "Saw Man," still shows up every day, but his sons Spike and Jeff are running things now.  Walk through the modest tool showroom to the oiled, aged saw shop in back for a glimpse into the past, where Marshall built a business around his hand-tempered saw blades.

Working with Schools

Burns offers a flexible woodshop maintenance program for schools throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  A Burns technician will work with school instructors to provide general maintenance of shop equipment, including the sharpening and re-installation of blades and knives.  Burns carries lines that are ideal for the education environment, including SawStop, General CNC and Festool.
