SawStop PCS175-TGP252 - 10" 1.75 HP Professional Cabinet Saw with 52" T-Glide Fence System, Rails and Extension Table

SawStop table saws are the most advanced saws in the world, setting the standard for table saw safety.

SawStop saws are equipped with a safety system that detects when someone accidentally contacts the spinning saw blade, and then stops the blade in milliseconds. In most cases, such an accident would result in just a nick on a SawStop saw, instead of the devastating injury which would likely occur on an ordinary table saw.

The system induces an electrical signal onto the blade and then monitors that signal for changes. The human body has a relatively large inherent electrical capacitance and conductivity, which cause the signal to drop when a person contacts the blade. Wood has a relatively small inherent capacitance and conductivity and does not cause the signal to drop.

The electrical signal drops quickly when the blade touches the finger. When the detection system sees dips like these, it knows a person has touched the blade.

In order to stop the saw, a fast-acting brake stops the blade when contact is detected. The brake includes a heavy-duty spring to push a block of aluminum, called a brake pawl, into the teeth of the blade to stop the blade from spinning. The spring is held in compression by a fuse wire until contact is detected. When contact is detected, the system sends a surge of electricity through the fuse wire to burn the wire and release the spring. The spring pushes the brake pawl into the teeth of the spinning blade, and the teeth cut into the aluminum and bind, thereby stopping the blade. All this happens in about 3–5 milliseconds, or 1/200th of a second. At the same time, the angular momentum of the blade causes the blade to retract below the table and the power to the motor is shut off.

The aluminum brake pawl pivots into the teeth of the blade. The brake pawl is part of a replaceable cartridge that includes the spring, fuse wire and electronics necessary to burn the fuse wire. An optional dado cartridge provides the same protection for dado cuts.

The standard and dado brake cartridges are single-use components that must be changed if the brake is ever activated. Changing a brake cartridge is fast and easy, no more complicated than changing the blade.

A safer, better saw, in so many ways.
The SawStop® Professional Cabinet Saw has several features to help operators stay safe.

  • SawStop safety system prevents serious injury with always-on protection.
  • 110V, 1.75HP model is engineered for the home shop, as it delivers the convenience of plugging in anywhere and a smaller shop footprint combined with the Professional Cabinet Saw’s safety, quality and dependability.
  • Dust Collection Blade Guard (included with the 3.0HP model, optional for the 1.75HP model). This innovative blade guard collects above-table dust and features independent lateral sides to minimize exposure to the blade. It retains a low profile to allow for cuts as narrow as 3/4 of an inch.
  • Riving knife minimizes kickback and provides protection during non-through cuts.
  • We double-check the saw every time you turn it on. A diagnostic self-check runs when you start the saw to ensure all systems are ready to detect an accident. If any problem is detected, the system will not allow the saw to start.
  • Sometimes you have your hands full and really need to stop the blade. Our large start/stop paddle with hands-free shutoff can be pushed with your knee allowing you to safely stop the blade even hands free.
  • Never worry again about someone using your saw when you’re not around. The main power switch with lockout key prevents unauthorized users from operating the saw.
  • When the power goes out, the saw stays off. The safety system won’t allow the motor to restart automatically when the power comes back on.
  • Left-tilting blade helps prevent wood from binding against the fence.
  • 10” Professional Cabinet Saw
  • 52” Professional T-Glide fence system, rails & extension table.
  • Heavy-duty arbor & arbor bearing
  • Contact detection & braking system
  • Cast-iron table, wings, trunnions and arbor block

  • European-style riving knife
  • Micro Blade guard
  • Blade shroud dust collection
  • Tool Free Zero-clearance insert

This warranty is void if the saw or any portion of the saw is modified without the prior written permission of SawStop, LLC, or if the saw is located or has been operated outside of the country where the authorized SawStop distributor from whom the saw was purchased resides.

Please contact SawStop to take advantage of this warranty. No Warranty of Safety

It is important to understand that SawStop® saws do not prevent injuries. They work to minimize the severity of injuries. In fact, an injury must occur before the SawStop® safety system reacts. The severity of the injury will depend on the speed at which a person contacts the spinning blade. You may incur a serious injury on a SawStop® saw. If you decide to use the saw in Bypass Mode, the safety system will be disabled and it will not activate in the event you contact the spinning blade.
