This tool is designed for use with hub-style shaper cutters, such as those found with Freeborn and other high-quality tooling. It creates a 1/4" thick by 3/4" long tenon when used with Freeborn Top Groovers (4" OD). The tool also aids in fence alignment—use a straight edge on both fences and the outer diameter of the rub spacer to achieve perfect tenon length.
For optimal results, ensure that the spindle is precisely aligned with the shaper table. Any spindle misalignment can cause the groove to exceed the intended 1/4" width.
