Used to countersink and counterbore for the heads of screws in woods, plastics, and non-ferrous materials. Heat-treated for long tool life. High speed steel countersinks are designed to only sink the head of the screw flush with the surface, not to sink it deeper for plugging. The high speed steel countersink is designed with shorter blades to reduce breakage. The wood countersinks have a sharper relief to allow for better clearance of chips.
