This 3D adapter is a versatile device used for making compound curves by inserting the adapter over any 1/4" shank router bit. By making it as an adapter and not a solid tool, the system becomes much more flexible as well as cost effective.
Insert adapter over any tool with 1/4" shank up to the maximum diameter of the adapter. For example, tool no. 55110 will fit all tools with up to a 3/4" cutting diameter. The cutting length is adjustable and is limitless to shapes and tools this adapter may be used for.
This adapter was made with 1/2" shank and it can be used in routers with a recommended maximum RPM of 18,000.
This 3D system may be useful especially for small objects, artistic works and other delicate projects. Hence, it could be a complementary system for the Amana miniature router bits with a 3/16" diameter ball bearing.
Additionally, this tool can also be used for small jobs with a drill machine (when one doesn't have a router). In this case, the outer ring, which revolves against the tool, serves as a small "router table". For this application, Amana recommends a minimum of 3,000 RPM.
Need an Allen key – 5/32" (Amana #5003) to adjust the required length of the shank. Only then, we can tighten the set screw that holds the tool from the side.
